A Program Focused on Economic and Financial Challenges

Cooperation and mutualism play a major role in the economies of more than 100 countries and, between now and 2020, this business model is expected to experience the fastest economic growth.

The 750,000 cooperative or mutualist enterprises operating globally employ over 100 million people worldwide.

To reflect this reality, the 2012 International Summit of Cooperatives program focuses mainly on the economic and financial future of cooperatives, in line with the values on which their missions are based.

130 Speakers

Some 130 international keynote speakers are expected at the Summit. Economists, financiers, CEOs, ministers, academics and researchers will present their vision of the current and future challenges the cooperative and mutualist model faces.

Round Tables, Workshops and Full Meetings

Leading-edge facilitation and state-of-the-art technologies will be available to promote discussions, participation and interactions between small, medium and large cooperatives and mutuals. Participants will have an opportunity to actively participate in the round tables, theme-based workshops and full meetings taking place throughout the Summit.

Making Room for Future cooperative leaders

Tomorrow's cooperative leaders will play a key role at the Summit. Together, over 230 cooperators between the ages of 20 and 35 will take part in the discussions and adopt a declaration on the sustainable prosperity and future of cooperatives and mutuals.
