"I am participating in the International Summit of Cooperatives because I believe that, in order to really build a better world, co-operatives need to pay more attention to their reputation, listen acutely to the conversations and attitudes among all their stakeholder groups and really raise awareness of their co-operative difference."
Biography
Rachel Griffiths is co-founder of the Reputation Consultancy, an organization founded in 2009 and rapidly becoming recognized as having one of the most contemporary approaches to corporate reputation management.
An accredited Practitioner of the Institute of Public Relations and a member of the International Coaching Federation, Rachel co-founded The Reputation Consultancy after 15 years experience in corporate reputation management, working across a diverse range of industries including FMCG, retail, food service, and financial services.
Those who have benefited from her approach include HSBC, Whitbread, Marks and Spencer and Cadbury and more recently the UK and international mutual and co-operative sectors.
As former Deputy Chief Executive for the UK’s Mutual Insurance Sector, she led a board of 13 CEOs in a stakeholder engagement campaign to enhance the reputation of the sector among consumers, the regulator, media and government.
Working with the UK’s Co-operative Industry, an economy worth £33 billion, she has designed and delivered a framework for Co-operatives Fortnight, a national campaign to raise profile, enhance reputation and heighten levels of engagement with members. She continues to work with the UK’s Co-operative Sector on the International Year of Co-operatives 2012.
Rachel’s work in how reputation management affects the bottom line has seen her deliver a Reputation Management Conference with the CIPR (Chartered Institute of Public Relations). She is regularly invited to speak at events and has delivered keynote speeches on Reputation and the opportunity for the mutual insurance sector at the ICMIF (The International Co-operative and Mutual Insurance Federation) conferences in Toronto and Manchester and Rebuilding Reputation in Financial Services in London.
At home, she is a very proud aunt, an amateur fell runner and has a VW campervan named Melvyn (named by her nephew, she hastens to add).
About REPUTATION CONSULTANCY
“The Reputation Consultancy has been an outstanding pioneer and contributor to co-operative enterprises.”
Ed Mayo, Secretary General, Co-operatives UK.
Reputation Consultancy supports organizations in effectively managing the asset of their reputation. It specializes in auditing, tracking and enhancing reputation to support strategic goals, efficient performance and effective risk management.
Its key services include auditing reputation amongst key stakeholders, using digital tools to track, analyze and protect reputation and expert consultancy to help organizations better understand and build their reputations.
“A strong reputation is key to success and business sustainability,” says Reputation Consultancy’s co-founder Rachel Griffiths. “It can be extremely precious (worth up to 80% of an organization’s market value) but also extremely vulnerable. This is especially true in today’s digital world where information is shared so quickly between an organization’s key audiences.”
“Co-operatives are bursting with many core requirements for a sound reputation which can deliver real competitive advantage. But they must be equipped to listen, be fit to analyze what they find and agile in how they respond.”
Reputation Consultancy’s team have advised many of the world’s leading organizations and brands include Co-operatives UK, The Co-operative Group, the UK mutual sector, HSBC, Heineken and Lloyds TSB.
