Biography
Omer Chouinard has a doctorate in sociology, specializing in environmental sociology, and is a professor at the Université de Moncton. For several years now, he has been working with a team of researchers, with the Southern Gulf of St. Lawrence Coalition on Sustainability (Coalition-SGSL), fishermen's unions, New Brunswick watershed organizations, and several coastal and island communities. He was a member of AquaNet, Canada's research network in aquaculture, and is often called on as an expert in matters of integrated management, adaptation and social economics.
