Biography

Emilio Miguel Almada is President of the Cooperativa 7 de Septiembre, a company in the metallurgical sector that manufactures electrical motors for various household and industrial applications. The company's origins lie in the recovery of a factory that once had a monopoly in the Argentine household appliance market and a large part of Latin America, and that had to rationalize its operations to gain a foothold in the market.

Mr. Almada is President of the Partner Commission of the Banco Credicoop (the only cooperative bank in Argentina), in the community of Berazategui, Buenos Aires.

He is involved with the Federation of Labour Cooperatives (Fecootra) as well as the National Confederation of Labour Cooperatives (CNCT), both in the youth sector and the National Cooperative Industries Integration Committee.

He is currently heading up the creation of the National Metallurgical Network Cooperative, which is charged with integrating all of the country's metallurgical cooperatives, exchanging products and services, joint purchasing and sales and working together in various fields as a team. It is a strategic alliance between the Metal Workers' Union (UOM), a very powerful labour organization in Argentina, the CNCT and the Confederation of Labour Cooperatives.
