Biography

Marie Antoinettee developed her leadership skills early on, as a student. In high school, she studied at Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) Coop Academy through the University’s Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MSU-IIT MPC). She describes her responsibilities as a student leader as a great experience that led her to become an officer of the Student Body Organization for three years.

Now 22, she is an Industrial Automation and Control Engineering Technology student at MSU-IIT. She has remained active in the cooperative movement, becoming an associate member of MSU-IIT MPC and joining the Youth Cooperative. After one term as a college representative, she became chairperson for the Youth Cooperative. As Youth Director, she represents youth cooperators on the MSU-IIT MPC’s Board of Directors. She also leads the Youth Committee, Pre-Membership Education Seminars, Youth Leadership Training, the Officer’s Financial Literacy Program, Youth Congresses and Consultative Working Sessions. Together with the other Youth Committee Officers, she also heads a number of community development initiatives such as the Coastal Cleanup and tree planting activities.

Now in her second term as MSU-IIT MPC’s Youth Director, she says that being in the cooperative world provides daily opportunities for learning, awareness and involvement. MSU-IIT MPC has also given her the chance to participate in various training and seminars to build her skills and gain exposure to different cultures.
